Background:
The function of the solar protection absorbtion glass pane during the warm season on the outside of the window is widely known. Unfortunately, it works the same way in the cold season. I.e. it blocks much of the solar energy from entering the room resulting in an ice cold inner glass pane.
What happens if we turn the sash 180 degrees in the cold season thereby positioning the solar protection glass pane on the inside?
The inner solar protection glass pane will work as a radiator. The sun will heat the glass. In addition solar radiation will pass thru. Moreover, the glazing may be optimized for climate zones.
Those are established facts. However, no viable and affordable technology has been available until now. The EWS-solution allowing the sash to be completely turned and locked in the new position was granted patent in December 2016.
